Antamina, in Peru, is on strike today. Teck owns 22.5%. Workers want more money because profit sharing is down with these copper prices and with declining output from lower grades.

In Chile, where Teck has other assets, they are also suffering from declining ore grades and a whole lot of geopolitical costs. They are losing ground with ore grades falling below an estimated 43% of global copper producers by 2020.

All this must make Teck take stock of their assets and try and diversfy geopolitically.
