Yes, you are absolutely right Willy Nilly. It does seem that the town is ready and willing (if not anxious) to host the mine.

I referenced it with regards to possible issues for MIN. We have some possible issues too.

We dont have permits or approvals yet, so we cant assume they will just be dropped on our lap without going through at least some hoops first. We too will have to deal with the EPA. Who knows definatively that we will cruise through. Some may hear fracking and come out of the woodwork, who knows?

That being said, I think the economic benefits to the region and the US govs drive for strategic assets and becoming more self-sustaining far outweigh any native or environmental concerns.

For the record, I dont think either project will see effective opposition.

The more I read about in-situ solution mining - the more I like it.

Its got some serious positives as a method of extraction, and very low cost and reclaimation issues after mining is completed vs. open pit.

Solution mining also yields extremely pure copper that may in fact have even more value as copper purity can be an issue with some miners. They could maybe buy our copper and smelt it in with theirs to improve grading? I dont know - just pulled that part out of my but, but sound possible...

Quality and price usually go hand in hand. Thats why Teck gets a good price for their metalurgical coal - its absolutely top quality.
