Seriously, when was the last time the CEO of any company you have invested in previously laid out the strategy they were going to pursue in any detail. every time he dares to predict a timeline, and something changes, he gets dissed by the same people that want him to lay out every move he's going to make and expect his plan to go exactly, and without any unforseen hitches, on time and as stated. boy, if only life was like that.
It seems to me Teck wants to start with the Liard zone, then when that's running smoothly they can use cash flow to expand into the discovery and, subsequently, into all the prospective zones in our district. it's a sensible plan that may, over time, lead to multiple zones being worked simultainously, like Highland Valley that's been mined for longer than some of us have been alive. Incidently, HVs cash cost is $2.10/lb and is still profitable because the capital costs were recovered countless years ago.
I've recently had some PMs from CUU friends that are seriously hurting. all of us that have been here for a few years are somewhat depressed because we didn't play this as well as we could have. selling at the bottom of the market is just as foolish as buying high and holding all the way down, so let's not compound the mistakes we've made in the past. Teck isn't going to move as fast as we would like, but this monster will be mined and we'll have our payday.
I'm stilll hoping for production in 2020 and they can accomplish that if they start in 2016.
I hope it's sooner, but I'll wait for as long as it takes.......chunky
