I don't find that terribly negative. In fact it's postiive for copper. It's negative for coal and steel.

It's also positive in that teck doesn't sound very interested in any under-managed producing asset out there. The article also says that a larger transaction is unlikely and mentions the previous rumors of a merger with Antofagasta.

I see no mention made of their interest in smaller junior projects. I think this news is not unexpected and is generally good for copper fox.
