Had a great chance to get out of the cursed stock...

Not so sure about that. Chance is one thing, opportunity is another. I think his average is still well above any recent rally price, otherwise I'm pretty sure he would have gotten out if he had the opportunity to do so, assuming his desire is to break even at the least.
