I wonder what Don Lindsay's hindsight thoughts are regarding their 2008 Fording Coal takeover. It was a deal that initially gave Teck a terrific boost to their core earnings, but the past 4 years or so, it's been an albatross for them. China simply doesn't need anywhere the amount of steel and met coal it previously did. Canadian Pacific Railway going to feel the pain of this considerably. Met coal and iron ore down 2/3's from where it was few years back.
