CUU own 25% Schaft Creek: proven/probable min. reserves/940.8m tonnes = 0.27% copper, 0.19 g/t gold, 0.018% moly and 1.72 g/t silver containing: 5.6b lbs copper, 5.8m ounces gold, 363.5m lbs moly and 51.7m ounces silver; (Recoverable CuEq 0.46%)
- and now today, they just announced a 5 year Delay oh his Oil Sand project...
Well, that is good news.
The problem is they are trying to buy the Zaldivar mine and all these moves look like they are shoring up cash for a serious run at the project. The final bids are in and we are supposed to hear an announcement in the beginning of August.
Teck is up against some heavy hitters. The most likely candidate is BHP because they have the mine across the road and there are supposed to be synergies so you would think they would pay the most. . . but they also want 100% and only 50% is for sale.
I have to say this looks like Teck thinks it is going to get Zaldivar.
