I would think that many of these companies that are cutting production are probably doing so because their cost to produce a pound of copper is above the present cost of a pound of copper. What is neeed is a mine like SC where the cost to produce a pound of copper could very well be below a dollar ( assuming good results from the optimization studies). A positive aspect of theses mines closing is that the supply will drop and eventually put the copper supply in a deficit position .JMHO
