It's rather shocking how easily one can obtain large amounts of credit here in Canada. In the UK where I'm originally from, even as a flat owner, If you were to walk into the bank and tell the loan officer you would like a large line of credit so that you can gamble the money in the stock market, they would look at you strangely and promptly show you the door. Here in Canada, it's "How much would you like?"
