The energy sector has been the linchpin of our economy. When energy falls, it take other key sectors along for the ride such as manufacturing. It trickles down into other industries. For example, Vancouver based Telus recently announced they are laying off 1500 employees across the Country, mainly due to "stress" in Alberta. Just one of many examples.
