Message: Speech from the Throne

I don't think changing this process will be a top priority of the govnt so it might take at least a year before we hear back any plan for change.

The Speech from the Throne outlines what the government is planning to change this session. These are the things the government is going to focus on changing right away so they are specifically stating that it is a top priority.

I'm not sure it will be a more eco-friendly process afterwards so much as government heavy and First Nations heavy. In the latter case though, First Nations is always very involved in BC so I can't imagine it will be much different in that regard. There might be a requirement for more funding from the companies involved to pay for FN involvement and there will certainly be more government employees to ply their red tape and make their presence known.

Technically ours is already in process but I'm not sure if it is far enough along to be grandfathered because we're at the pre-application stage.
