Interesting news today. Is no one talking about this?
This development is a sign that Teck is interested in turning Schaft Creek into a producing mine as they purchased more shares in Liard Copper Mines to have increased access to the operation's revenues. If Teck had zero intentions of producing ore from SC, then they would not have the need or desire to buy shares in Liard Copper Limited as it would be wasting capital resources in a time where cost restraints/reductions are vital in this current market environment. There would be no purpose aside from gaining further control in the Schaft Creek economics. Great news. The Optimization studies are going well maybe...
Teck could have also bought these shares for themselves but offered Copper Fox the right to contribute and allocate the ownership of these acquired shares to the JV partnership of the project. Team effort.
