Interesting why they would post a video on Dec 17 that occurred on Nov 6(notice the poppies) from the CEO of Hudbay who left that job to become CEO of Goldcorp on Dec 7. The key points about the uncertainty of demand from China are valid. Teck has been publishing slides, with data from Wood Mackenzie, that show the growth rate of copper consumption has slowed but total consumption is still increasing each year. The same situation is occuring with oil where the demand is still rising albeit at a lower rate of increase. Until the excess supply has been consumed then those commodity prices will remain weak. All of this is distant to CUU's main concern, which centers around Teck's intentions on SC. Will they use the optimization work to move SC from the growth option stage to the pre-sanction stage?
