Nice to see you have such a large and dedicated but very misinformed following. IMHO Good luck to you and your purpose on this board.
========================
Just because the majority of 'posters' have a rosy view of our future does not equate to being better 'informed'. Its much like north american society, a vocal few can skew what public perception truly is. Bike lanes, protests against dams, mines, oil sands, pipelines - you name it, a vocal minority can make public support to seem much stronger than reality.
The volume of posts doesn't strengthen a point of view, it just is talked about more. Yes it may seem that the board sentiment is strongly to the positive, but as with any internet forum - the bulk of the posts are made by only a few people. There is always a large amount of 'readers' that don't participate on the board.
This is where the 'thumbs up' comes into play - it's a good guage of true sentiment on the board. Just because many members don't participate doesn't invalidate their support for any given opinion.
Instead of being frustrated that a point of view you might not agree with is seeing support, just realize that the opinion you have may not be widely held by other board members.
