Once Teck makes that " announcement " it will be to late for anyone hoping for the big payday if your not invested in CF before hand.

Not necessarily true. I've seen tons of stocks rally on positive news, and then regress as profit taking takes over, allowing people to jump back in at lower prices. An announcement from Teck doesn't automatically produce a producing profiting copper mine out of thin air. Nor does an announcement from Teck mean Teck has to buy out CUU. It's a big payday for Copper Fox themselves as they receive a $20m injection of cash. Anything in regards to the CUU share price upon announcement still falls into the hope category.
