I don't know the true value of Schaft Creek either. While I appreciate the calculations being shared here, even if they're much lower than I'd like to believe possible, I try to find reassurance in recalling director David MacDonald buying shares like there's no tomorrow at prices much higher than 27 cents.
Also, when we reached the lofty heights of $2.70 per share, there wasn't any significant unloading taking place by insiders. They had an opportunity to sell a portion of their holdings -- they couldn't dump everything without causing a total collapse -- but, led by Elmer, they remain the majority shareholders.
I don't like the way things have been handled with Teck, giving away too much control. I hate to admit that I have nagging doubts that we'll see $2.70 again before it's all said and done. But, despite all the hardships we've been through, I can't imagine that Ernesto and the gang are going to give this district away for peanuts. So the stalemate drags on...
