CUU own 25% Schaft Creek: proven/probable min. reserves/940.8m tonnes = 0.27% copper, 0.19 g/t gold, 0.018% moly and 1.72 g/t silver containing: 5.6b lbs copper, 5.8m ounces gold, 363.5m lbs moly and 51.7m ounces silver; (Recoverable CuEq 0.46%)
Slide 42 on Teck's presentation has Schaft Creek at 5.43 Mt CuEq contained. Has that changed?
Not by much. The 5.43 Mt works out to about 12 billion lbs Cueq, which gives CUU 3 billion lbs Cueq. Elmer booked 3.2 billion lbs Cueq on slide12 of the October presentation in the M&I category. The small difference is due to the different values Teck and CUU used for metal prices. The issue comes down to the objective of the conceptual study Teck put down in the Satellite asset descriptons for SC " significantly improve project economics". The 2013 FS did not present a viable economic project.
