I agree oil will be needed for a long time. But this EV surge that is being pushed is going to make copper the darling to date. We just assume that copper prices will stay in the clouds forever. But maybe not. Perhaps new practices will make low grade deposits supply the earth with an abundance of the metal once again. Chile, Afghanistan and even BC may unearth large rich deposits. Economies collapse, countries collapse.
I think Teck should stop dragging it's feet. Using joint ventures, they could put that mine into production without investing a whole lot.
