It's amazing how the government of Canada has basically ZERO ounces of gold in it's reserve account, having sold off "the family jewels" over the years.

Yeah you have to wonder.  Though one could argue that we don't know what the funds from the gold sales were used for, to support what industries or investments that may have outpaced the appreciation benefit of holding gold since then.  Yeah I know how wasteful governments can be, and even worse ,iirc, they sold away our gold when the price were just a few hundred bucks.  Anyway, geting too OT.
