From a recent Taseko Mines update about their ISL project nearby:

"Discussions regarding a joint venture with interested parties are ongoing and we are about to resume more in depth discussions with banks and other potential lenders regarding project financing,” concluded Mr. Hallbauer."

Some parties are interested in these projects and I would not be suprized if the same parties are also knocking on our door. Maybe a VDJV is actually where more money will come from in the short term.
