Teck likes to de-risk it projects by taking on a partner and keeping control as the operator.

Also Teck has already stated there will be a QB3 and possibly QB4 all using the same the same infrastructure.. I believe their partners would have to pay up for the next stages.

So overall QB is the better project and that's why money was spent on it.. I still believe Schaft Creek/ Galore creek will go ahead at some point because of the demand for copper.. Who knows which decade that will play out
