I'd rather see Ernesto take his time seeing the unstoppable momentum in copper right now. What if copper jumps to $6 in the next 12 months. That's just a 30% rise from today. Not crazy given all the copper supercycle talk and copper coming up in a straight line over 100% in the last year.
Our all-in CUeq cost is probably under a dollar. At $3 copper the profit margin is $2 per lb CUeq. That' a fantastic margin BTW. At $5 copper it is $4 profit margin. That alone doubles our NPV and buyout price. Worth a one year wait, imo. This is again the reason behind my thesis that a SC buyout doesn't come to a head until mid-2022. Ernesto will slow play until Teck loses its mind at much higher copper prices.
No, I think it is our time to slow play and squeeze maximum pain out of a partner for a change. Especially a partner who is oh-so dervering of having the pain of the table turned on them.
