"I agree there's nothing in the updates that have been shared to us that would give any reason to think a deal is happening ASAP. But I do wonder where Mark Brown is in all of this… I thought he was going to bring exposure and facilitate a deal I haven't seen any of that work yet"
Spitfire,
We will never hear buyout talks have started, rather only when they FINISH! Teck has always stated they have "quiet discussions". We can infer based on potential hints and odd developments.
Im starting to think the JV sale talks have been ongoing for months.....the fact there is a news release ready but needs Teck approval along with other parties could signal there is finally a buyout deal accepted. Many things point to this development.
1) AGM 4 weeks away, still no agm package in the mail. Is it possible they extended the meeting date from August to September to incorporate the vote on a deal? Possible.
2) The huge delay. Q1 promised- now Q3! A report that was incorporating data from the Teck 2019 report which took 2 years to finish and some components from the 2013 report. Having all this info completed.....it still takes 9 additional months to comply this data into a 2021 pea report? No!
3) Teck announcing at the Q1/Q2 conference call....to expect major project satellite development and updated timeline package by investor day (September 21st).
