Did you use the market cap from 2019 when the PFS was released? It would have cost BHP a lot less to acquire 5% of the company back then. They went from ~ 2.50/share to about $ 14/share before BHP acquired 5%. Plus you can be sure BHP would have put a lot more effort in valuing the project then you did. They would have signed a CA, acquired the drill/assay data, get their geo team to build a geomodel, run a bunch of realizations with variations in grade, thickness etc to get high, low and a P50 resource estimate. That would tell them the potential size of the prize. Obviously they liked what they saw and pushed a bunch of money over to FIL to continue drilliing to reduce the uncertainty in the resource estimate. One of the biggest reasons for the share price increase would come from the investment houses who would have produced their own resource models and recommended share purchases to their clients. The big miners scour the juniors for future deposits with their A&D teams. Newmont has acquired interests in two properties in the Golden Triangle, GT Gold and Galore. Don't you think they would have looked at SC? Bigbuck didn't get an answer from the office about Copper Fox talking to Newmont.
