YM I don't think there will be any news release until the meta studies are finished. That news might be released or more likely no news at all until there truly is a buy out. Also we've had reports of news early in the new year or mid January.  Given the company's track record with dates and deadlines did you really expect to hear something on time? 
I think the best we can hope for in the next several weeks is for ongoing increases in the sp that hold their ground and don't tank after after a few days.
