I had always thought/assumed Colin was a relatively younger dude.  He earned his Bachelor of Commerce in 1976.  That means he is at least 66-67.  He's not too young to retire but the resignation didn't sound like a retirement so I would guess its a health or personal circumstances issue.  Nothing to read into for our fate, imo.
