Great post FFoxie,

I agree with you and also see a Teck takeover as a risk for us. It would add more uncertainty to the fog we've been living under. I agree, the best exit strategy for us would be for a deal to get done ASAP. Teck has us by the short and curlies with the data being witheld, too bad there isn't a clause in the SCJV that prevents this.

What I don't know about is more JVs and whether they need to pass the "exceptional circumstances" criteria stated by Champagne following his Glencore coal nod. Teck and Newmont already have their Galore JV. Bringing on Newmont for SC partner seems so logical and would make good business sense. I would think the existing JV could be expanded to include both projects. I'm guessing JVs don't require the same level of scrutiny an outright sale of Teck would.

My hope (possibly a fool's hope as Gandalf might say) is that Teck has shared their data with Newmont, also possibly CUU, and backroom deals are being negotiated. But this could entirely be incorrect. Elmer has stated that upon receiving the data packages, they would undertake 3rd party review which Sibui2 and others have estimated would take several months. Could this be happening now....? What happened with the Filo deal? Was there an independent review before negotiating the price? Asking because I haven't followed that story.

If EE is ok with Teck data and offer from Teck/Newmont why would an independent review be necessary? Is this possible?

Teck is now a critical minerals company, which desperately needs to add pop to its copper production, as stated recently on this board. Such a mega project with SC and Galore, with great numbers, would address that. It would also keep Teck and those projects "made in Canada" with great potential for expansion and all the tax breaks and other N. America incentives now available.
