I sometimes wonder if there is a major who has seriously considered buying up the whole of Copper Fox and decided to pass. Because, so far, only Schaft and Van Dyke offer valuations that can be backed up by results; the other properties are still guesstimates, so how can you come up with a price that’s fair for all? And then there’s the JV with Teck on Schaft which further complicates matters for any would-be owner. I suppose the best bet is still for Teck to spread its risk and/or expense on Schaft with Newmont, as it has done with Galore. Will we hear anything by or during the upcoming AGM?
