They have lost billions on their investment in Fort Hills which is money gone for good, they will never recover those billions. Teck is overbudget on QB2 by $6 Billion USD! And its in a country that wants to apply a 100% tax on any large profits.

Also, Teck talks a big game about countercyclical LT investing and always exercising prudence in their decisions... but imo Teck's track record shows repeated naïveté in their choices and timing thereof, as well as financial recklessness with their shareholder's capital.
