I tripped across this letter in 2007 from David Pow, P.Eng to Cam Grundstrom.

Confirms for me that total distance from Hwy 37 to SC is about 105 km of road travel (Mess Creek route), 65 km of this using GCAR.  Making the SC turn-off road approximately 40 km in distance from the GCAR.
