NEM to sell Akyem for up to $1bln
Newmont's sale of Akyem for up to $1bln in cash comes at an attractive valuation for NEM, and represents half of the company's $2bln minimum targeted divestitures…
...and further down...
▪ Total proceeds from non-core asset sales announced to date — Telfer and Akyem — are $1.48bln, consisting of $1.11bln cash plus $200mm of conditional/contingent cash and $168mm of equity.
▪ Recall, Newmont is planning to divest seven non-core assets for a minimum of $2bln. Telfer/Haverion was the first announced sale. The previous announced monetization of NEM's Lundin Gold debt and Batu Hijau contingent payments are not included in the $2bln target.
