With the HPGR I just came across it while perusing TetraTech's site. Interesting stuff to be sure, and I'd think that Teck will want to get a little more advanced with its mines going forward (e.g. like the upgrades to highland valley, trail, its e-recycling program, etc.). It is possible (my speculation) that CUU at its own perogative or Teck's, went back to the drawing board for the total mine plan in Spring 2012 - honestly, what is taking these guys so long! Perhaps we'll see some surprises with the BFS yet ... good surprises I trust.

I was looking at Teck subsidiary CESL today (technology group) and they've made an economic case for a number of years now for producing copper cathode right on site, as opposed to shipping concentrate for smelting/refining. Interesting. I could imagine such a scenario if a district does actually start to get mined. However, with the Port of Stewart prebooked, we seem committed to concentrate and perhaps that's what our friends in Asia will prefer. A few articles for the bored or interested:
