Perhaps someone who's followed and looked into it more can tell me if this is off base but... Isn't the problem for America (fiscal cliff) what the Eurozone is using as a solution (austerity and higher taxes)? Maybe that's a bit too simplified and it's the extent that matters, but am I off base in saying that? It becomes difficult to disentangle rhetoric and politics from facts and realities.
