"Bear in mind that 120 days now takes us past the B.C. Provincial election date.

Teck may wait to see the outcome before making any decision."

I'm convinced that any decision made by Teck regarding Schaft Creek will not be influenced one iota by whatever happens in a BC provincial election, or for that matter, any future election, provincial or federal. I suppose it's a debatable point, but I think it's one so tenuous that I'm glad that the above message was posted on the OT forum.

The only possible political objections are those regarding the environment and First Nations issues. Schaft Creek emerges squeaky clean in its dealings with the Tahltan, and does anyone doubt that the EA will be a positive one, bearing in mind fish-free locale, minimal effect of acid runoff due to low precipitation, and so on? So, anyone, is there a mainstream provincial political party, from right, left or centre which would make life difficult for the development of resources in northern BC, and still expect to get elected? Which one is it? And don't mention the mainstream party you'd never vote for on ideological grounds unless you back up your opinion with quotations from the party's own policy platform.
