rockland-ogama-onondaga -c1km of narrow quartz veins hosted by tonalitic rocks of the Ross River Pluton
'Ogama-Rockland mine produced 45,440 ounces of gold from 139,103 tons of ore for a recovered grade of 0.33 oz Au/ton (11.2 g Au/t), from 1948 to 1951.
Production was from narrow veins within the tonalitic rocks of the Ross River Pluton.'
'The Ogama-Rockland is
hosted by a large tonalite intrusive, the Ross River pluton, while the Central Manitoba occurs within the volcanic-sedimentary stratigraphy, along a mafic sill. While there are few mineral exploration criteria which can be considered absolute, as a general rule, Archean gold targets within large granite/tonalite intrusions are less attractive than targets within the volcanic-sedimentary stratigraphy. In a geologic environment such as the Ogama-Rockland, structures would be expected to be "tight" and tonnages small, though high grade gold values may locally be intersected.'
does anyone know where strikepoint got the following reference from:
from strikepoints angelina pdf
Mineralization 3.5 km south of Angelina includes the Onondaga mine where grades of 0.7-32g/t Au but exceptionally to 5616 and 9223 g/t Au were reported from a quartz vein containing minor pyrite and carbonate in feldspar porphyry within the Ross River Pluton, near mafic volcanic rocks and gabbro.
