Mibam idea strategic plan to relaunch basic industries in Venezuela

Caracas, Mar 20. ABN .- Given the enormous potential that owns Venezuela for the exploitation of minerals such as aluminum, iron, coal and
gold, the Ministry of People's Power for Basic Industries and Mining (Mibam) idea of a strategic plan that will allow relaunch the activity of industries Basic and mining in the country.
In this sense, the holder of the portfolio Mibam,
Rodolfo Sanz, he indicated that the approach is to execute this plan over a period not exceeding three years.
"The Venezuelan basic industries have obsolete technology that generates high levels of air pollution as well as the need to invest a high amount of money in the process of revival," said
Sanz.
He noted that on the orders of President Hugo Chavez Frias, Mibam applies the 3R (revision, modification and reimpulso) in these firms.
"One of the goals is to establish agreements with the workforce, because there are cases like that of Bauxilum, where employees are taking 78% of production costs," he said.
He also mentioned the case of Alcasa aluminum company, which suffered losses during 2007 by the order of 400 billion bolivars strong part of this because 47% of production costs went to the workforce.
He stressed that the sector is the iron that is in a better position and provides more rewarding. 'I appoint Ferrominera Orínoco, a company that thanks to a remarkable production capacity has invested some 300 million dollars in plants concentration of iron ore,' he said.
Ultimately referred to the gold sector, saying it should be reordered holdings, since Venezuela is a land rich in minerals and important and strategic to boost the mining industry. "For this reordering count on the support and willingness of the Corporación Venezolana de Guayana, Mibam, trade unions and political actors in the Guayana region," he added.
