Tumeremo .- A group of 21 students and three professors from the school of Geology, Mines and Geophysics at the Central University of Venezuela visited different places miners municipalities
Sifontes and El Callao.
Olga King, director of the School of Geology, Mines and Geophysics of the UCV, explained that the reason for the visit was from an academic point of view for which it is reported that go into effect to hear what is being said in the classroom. "The group consists mostly by students of mine who, during his career have to do a range of subjects covering all mining activities through exploration to the treatment of the mineral."
One of the visits was to the company
PMG in the town of El Callao where students and teachers after talks with geologists of the company, they proceeded to show all the activity and made a presentation on the geological context of the area where they are doing mining. "One of the sites visited was a mine operating opencast where geologists and mining engineers of
PMG could explain from the technical operation, type of machinery and other highlights from mining," said King.
Transformation of the material
The director of the school of geology, mines and geophysics at the Central University of Venezuela, added that once completed the process of explanation of what is exploitation, "then spent talking to metallurgical engineers who were responsible for explaining to Students everything that is in the process plant for the processing of the material that is extracted in order to remove the
gold and bullion definitive shape. I think mine is well-planned, well-developed and both students and teachers was an unforgettable experience, as we reported this mine is one of the best planned in the country that their exploitation is oriented towards areas of interest as it is not exploit to exploit but from the point of view becomes quite interesting techniques they employ, "said King.
For its part Alba Castillo, head of the department of mines from the school in question, he added that "the mining process observed was very good techniques are used as well as important and the treatment they give companies the recovery of the areas already worked so very important to us and I think that the Venezuelans and for the human being is to be given paramount importance and power ensure that the mining processes once that harness mineral resource are also responsible for the territory and natural resources nationals and the people that are connected with the activity of mining itself. It is for us to respond to the ecological and social terms, is get in tune with the modern demands that have been otherwise, but we must act now so ethical and I would love to go to underground mining to even make preconcentrados that level, but I understand that the sites can operate open pit. "
For teaching, the management of mine tailings, gaps tail and dams of soil mining has to be done in a responsible manner to return the territory to recover dumps that are in the process of arresting the layer of organic matter with growth gramia and heaps of being shaped with slopes worked well. "
UCV in El Callao
For educator UCV highly desirable core of this house of studies in this population, "because this town is traditionally mining and the university could be present in the villages where the exploitation of
gold mining. Now I must emphasise that we have received the treatment group
Agapov, MS, and
PMG. "
Catherine Silva, a professor in the department of mines in the Central University of Venezuela, said that it was an excellent opportunity to have the students see what they learn at camp, "especially with new technologies and some reengineering that has been made in some processes to make them more efficient so that they can observe the entire process, from the boot of mine when we finish up the slug. Here in this plant in El Callao, is using a very clean technology that is the PAC which retrieves the most any product and where
gold recoveries of this material is excellent and is the
smallest of the damage to the environment " .
Finally the group of teachers and students said that the tour was very productive academic and thanked the companies attention and daily Nueva Prensa de Guayana, as the only way that gave coverage to the visit of the delegation of the Central University of Venezuela .
Support
Students and teachers at the UCV thanked coverage of this event to the journal New Press Guiana and mining companies
Agapov Group, PMG and
Rusoro Mining, supporting future professionals.
