Although, this looks bad I think this is the only alternative Sanz really had for the Helca mine. Eventhough, KRY is mining I doubt it would of had the resource to take over Helca's operation. Given that the Russians are the biggest gold mining player right now, I am not surprised Sanz gave the mine to them.

This will certainly bring out the conspiracy theorists, who will suggest that the Russians want it all. My counter argument would be if Venezuela wanted it that way it would of already been done. Just look at how fast Helca's mine was given to the Russians.
