I am glad to say I am still having fun, HA HA. The bagel thing is almost dead but there are a few peeps who still have a chance.
I have been trying to digest all the pertinent info (which has not been very much) comming out of Venezuela. It seems IMHO that Chavez is moving toward a "Cuba model" Castro arrangement where 1% have everything and 99% have nothing. I really think he is trying to appease the hardline socialists before the election and also trying to make it look like progress is being made in areas of social welfare, jobs and projects to the masses but it is all a ruse. There are valid arguements for allowing the multinationals to mine because they would actually leave the land in better shape than it is in now (but minus the gold and copper), and the peasant miners would be employed (but then would also be unemployed again in fourty years when the minerals ran out). Oil is definetly the cash cow in Venezuela and our stupid need to consume it is going to keep those whom are set up to profit to do well for years to come.
I have said this long ago and still beleive it now-
Greed is the driver of this project on ALL levels................hopefully, hopefully, hopefully all the crapola that has been going on of late is a badly orchistrated plan by Venezuelan insiders to make a killing by snapping up millions of cheap shares and then profiting when the mines get their approvals. This is my permit scenario, sad but true.
I do not care if a bunch of these POS make a killing as long as I can get out at a decent price, and that completely vaidates my statement about greed as I don't care either- as long as I profit also. The enironment and indiginous people stuff is a smokescreen. The only way to save the enviroment in general is to reduce the amount of consumers on the planet, but this is a topic for a different fourm.
I will never do business in or with Venezuela if I can help it, ever again.
Go KRY!
