Hi Richard,
Can you elaborate on the recent denial from the director general and provide some common sense as to why the apparent change in direction to developing the Las Cristinas deposit? And do you have a time line as to how long this next legal challenge will take to get a ruling? Also, is Sanz still in favor or mining and for the development of Las Cristinas? And if so why hasn't he overrules Ortega with her recent decision on no open pit mining or what ever her reasons may be today?
Richard Marshall response:
xxxx, the recent MinAmb permit denial and refusal to listen to the first rebuttal makes no sense based on the past actions of the MinAmb, the CVG, the MIBAM, the National Assembly and Presidential Decrees.
As per our press release issued on Friday, we expect to siiue our second rebuttal to the Minister of Environment and have 15 buisiness days to deliver the rebuttal at which point the Minister will have 90 buisness days to consider the position.
We believe Minister Sanz, the CVG and MIBAM have interest and support for the Las Cristinas project. We still believe the Minister of MinAmb and her desire for a new mining policy is isolated within MinAmb.
Regards,
Richard
