This Wednesday, the executive vice president, Ramon Carrizalez Rengifo, conducted a tour of the International Airport of Santa Elena de Uairén, in the municipality Gran Sabana, in order to inspect the progress of this important work that is estimated could be opened in late this month.
Through supervision of works, the Vice Carrizalez found that the performance reaches 80 percent and already finished the main terminal and auxiliary, as well as related services.
Also, with resources of PDVSA will commence soon the construction and equipping of system control tower fixed; lights approximation of marking and equipping the fire station
The new headquarters of the International Air Terminal, located on the border with Brazil, has a runway of 1,600 metres long with capacity for landing and takeoff of aircraft ATR-200 and 737.
