Miners are demanding cancellation of claims

Ciudad Bolivar .- At least some four thousand miners from the town Raúl Leoni moved to the headquarters of the Ministry of Basic Industries and Mining response to demand the delay in the payment of claims desprendidas Plan Retraining Mining.
The aim was to deliver a document which sought to be attended by Minister of Basic Industries, Rodolfo Sanz, for answers to their demands on aid payments, and the outcome of the technical working groups of CVG and Mibam. Also awaiting response on the request by old age pension and activation of training programmes to provide employment to 300 miners and their families.
"The minister was last May 14 in La Paragua and requested within 20 days to give us solutions, on Wednesday was met that deadline and we have no response yet," complained Alfredo Villanueva, La Paragua miner and leader of the merger.
He claimed that the payment was offered by the owner of Mibam, "he said he had a commitment for the payment of allowances of tickets, also at this stage and should have answers for those affected by the conversion mining." On June 26 under two years of the decree of the conversion.
