It is pretty clear that the Environmental Minister will not budge in her position to deny mining in the Impatca forest area. I get the sense that she will not comprimise on anything proposed by Mibam or the NA.

The obivious conclusion the NA, Mibam and Minister of Environment can make with La Cristinas is to have it mined in an environmental sensitive method. We all know the benefits this project will bring to this area. Where the alternative would just ensure chaos in the area for many years to come.

So how will the Ministry of the environment be overruled within this committee. Any back tracking by Ortega just makes her look like a fool, so the only solution I can see is a recommendation coming out of the committee for Chavez to allow mining in this area.
