O&L, I have no explanation for the flip-flop. International precedents give countries wide latitude in setting and enforcing environmental policy. It doesn't matter what she said yesterday. What counts is what she is saying and doing today. Given the growing concern about the loss of forest in SA I believe it would make sense to tackle her specific concerns (deforestation and small miners) head on and maybe turn them to our advantage. Think about how many people could be employed in a forest remediation project and how good we would look for sponsoring it.
