The "spy law" was Hugo's way of doing an end run around the democratic process (that obviously failed him at the last referendum) so he could consolidate his power by other means. Turning Venezuela into a nation of spies...pitting neighbor against neighbor...is a page right out of Castro's book. No one knows what will happen with Las Cristinas. We DO know that it's fate will be determined by how it might optimize Hugo's pursuit of power. That is a fact. The details are all that require clarification. If Crystallex serves Hugo's needs...they will prevail. If the Russians serve his needs...they will prevail. If the protection of the environment serve his needs it will prevail. Hugo holds the power to make the ultimate decision on our fate. Rest assured that he is well aware of the plum that Las Cristinas is. Also count on the fact that his decision will maximize his own selfish self interests. Logic and fairness (calculated from our perspective) is irrelevant.
