Swimming against the current?

Gold jumped today big time up $32.18 bucking the downward trend in the overall markets that are correcting hard and swiftly and some say still have a ways to go. Take this quote from a market timer:

"The Nasdaq Composite closed at its lowest level since April 15 while the Dow closed at its lowest level since September 2006. It is ugly out there folks, make no mistake about it. We told you that this market was going to go down hard, and our forecast was once again right on the money. Markets that do not rally during a favorable time period (month end 'window dressing' and an upcoming holiday) are telling us that they are weak indeed. Every time the market tried to rally, fresh waves of selling appeared to send the indices to fresh lows on the day. The Dow is now down 19% off of the October high while the Nasdaq Composite is down over 17%."

This same market timer is now bullish on the metals which hopefully will counter the downward trend of the overall markets for the metals sector. It will be like swimming against the current, but should help mitigate any downward spiral in the metals stocks. Also, our KRY play may not play to the overall trend as it has been beaten beyond belief and if the current efforts to reverse any permit denial remain front and center should hopefully keep KRY supported. There are no guarantees however, and never bet on what the markets have not yet planned for us. Even KRY who has doubled in a couple of days needs to pause and consolidate it's gain so lets see if we continue back up tomorrow and hopefully we have the overall markets working in our favor.
