The new law of mines, that was pending within the qualifying package, will be in the hands of the Commission of Energy and Mines of the National Assembly within 15 days, for the beginning of the discussion process and consults with the sectors involved, according to the expressed thing by the president of the parliamentary instance, Angel Rodriguez.

This week, minister of Basic Industries and Minería, Rodolfo Sanz, assured that the new law will be presented/displayed the Assembly before it concludes the present period of sessions.

The deputy Rodriguez indicated that in the Commission of Energy and Mines the greater interest exists to know the advances that the Executive in this matter has, to begin the debate and to make the due consultations, because the intention is to generate one " good law consensuada".

More mixed companies. Red Luis, vice-president of the Mining Camera, showed that for year and a half they have not known more anything of the law project that was presented/displayed to them by the Ministry of Basic Industries for its consideration.

" Evidently the Government continues impelling the law, we we made a series of commentaries to the official proposal, even in the Assembly.

Nevertheless, never there was a concrete result nor we received answer to the expositions that we did to the Ministry of Basic Industries and the own Asamblea" , he indicated the representative of the mining companies.

As far as the content of the project, Red he does not have doubts that he will ratify the tendency observed in other sectors to work against the concessions and abrir the door to the scheme of mixed companies through operation contracts.

In fact, according to Red, this scheme venture decided recently with the company Rusoro Mining for auriferous operation is being applied, as in the case of joint. Red it insists on which the concessionary regime is the appropriate one for the mining development, because it is a business of high risk with low expectations of return by each inverted dollar.

As far as the future of the sector, the vice-president of the camera considers that she is going to continue diminishing the volume of production, because the lack of granting of the environmental permissions, pole stone of many projects, has affected the flow of investments towards this activity.
