Rangel took the opportunity to inspect construction work undertaken by transnational Crystallex International at the area hospital in cooperation with the Venezuelan Guayana Corporation (CVG) and visited an educational unit located in the Santo Domingo community to determine requirements by students and staff in response to requests from Las Claritas residents heading his re-election campaign.

OK...it's all starting to make sense now. Connect the dots...Ortega catches wind of Rangel getting ready to rock the vote...including visiting Las Cristinas and the good public works that Crystallex has constructed to date....arguably a precursor to the permit. This REALLY pisses "Gorilla Face" off and she decides to get her hubby to paint Merly with a corrupt brush in attempt to get even. It would appear that "Gorilla Face's" days may be numbered. Perhaps she could get a yob in a cage at the zoo. At this point the future looks brighter than ever (subject to the next "news" article of course).
