Gold Reserve (GRZ) which had ordered major machinery to mine for gold at the Las Brisas del Cuyuni project in southeastern Bolivar state, but has been forced to suspend the order because of the fact that it has not yet received environmental clearances necessary for the project to proceed.

I am glad they are talking about the lack of foregin investment and GRZ pulling back with oil prices dropping to $65, and maybe this will speed up progress on getting all these laws together. I really think most of the hold up is getting all these laws to work in concert, and the mine already is a go. The current Govt. might not want rampant capitolist mining but I think they are willing to work something out in light of their impending fiscal doom.

the eventual adoption of the new Mining Act must be in concert with the enactment of a number of other laws covering land-use and forestry, with particulat emphasis on the development of Venezuela's mining industry.

ALSO- Much toodoo has been made of the Finito thing but I do not think we are waiting for that outcome, we could start building the mine tommorow and the Finito case would be settled before any gold is produced. I and many others would personally send them a cheque for $50- If we didn't have to hear about this anymore.
