Minister of Basic Industries and Mining, Rodolfo Sanz, announced the recovery of the Las Cristinas gold exploitation, so that starting next year will be administered by the state.
The government recovered the giant gold mine of Crystallex in the hands of Canada's Crystallex, which hopes to start exploiting it in 2009. Two months ago, Crystallex had said that talks with the authorities left them optimistic about the possibility of obtaining an environmental permit who have waited for years to exploit Las Cristinas, considered one of the shells are not explored the world's largest.
